LTFHC founder, Dr. Amy Lehman, shares her story through MAKERS: Women Who Make America, a landmark digital video and broadcast initiative from AOL and PBS that aims to become the largest collection of women’s stories ever captured on video. Launched in February, MAKERS.com features exclusive access to compelling stories from trailblazing women, who are driving and realizing social change. Dr. Amy Lehman takes the stage at CGI’s 2012 Annual Meeting
At the 2012 Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Annual Meeting today, Lake Tanganyika Floating Health Clinic (LTFHC), in collaboration with HP, announced its commitment to action to expand its radio network over the next two years in Africa’s Lake Tanganyika basin, home to nearly 20 percent of the world’s fresh water, as well as massive new mineral discoveries in East Central Africa. This expansion will bridge a communications gap that exists between remote health centers and provide a solution for obtaining epidemiologic data among its 3 million residents, a milestone that marks a critical development in the region’s healthcare infrastructure, including its first electronic medical record.
